Notice of PTA Managing Committee elections

Pursuant to the circular dated 7th August 2009, applications for membership of PTA have been received from parents. Accordingly, a PTA has been formed.

The school management now wishes to set up a managing committee of the PTA. The PTA managing committee will be elected democratically.

Please refer to the circular dated 7th August 2009 for eligibility criteria, roles and responsibilities, code of conduct and other important rules related to the formation & conduct of the PTA managing committee.

Accordingly, the school management now invites nominations from registered members of the PTA for becoming a member of the PTA Managing Committee.

The schedule for elections to the membership of the PTA managing committee is as follows:
  1. Collection of nomination forms from the school office & submission thereof: 08-Sep-09 to 10-Sep-09 from 9am to 12noon. No forms will be issued or accepted after 10 Sep-09 12noon.

  2. Displaying a list of qualified candidates on the school notice board : 10-Sep-09 3pm.

  3. Cutoff date for withdrawal of candidature, if any : 11-Sep-09 12noon

  4. Displaying a list of final candidates on the school notice board : 11-Sep-09 1pm

  5. Elections : 12-Sep-09 at 9am.

H1N1 (Swine flu)

As per the directions issued by the Additional Chief Health Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, and the circular of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, we must follow the under mentioned guidelines for the prevention of infection of influenza.

1. Students showing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, running nose and difficulty in breathing) should stay at home until they recover completely.
2. Remind children to cover their mouth with a tissue while coughing or sneezing. The tissue must be thrown after use.
3. Encourage children to wash their hands with soap when they cough or sneeze. Alcohol based cleaners are also effective.
4. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth frequently. Germs spread in this way.
5. Try to avoid crowded places and people with respiratory illness.
6. For any queries on H1N1 flu, you may contact the Epid Cell at Kasturba Hospital, Ph. No.: 022- 23083901/ 23027700.

In children, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
• Fast breathing or trouble in breathing
• Bluish or grey skin color
• Not drinking enough fluids
• Severe or persistent vomiting
• Not waking up or not interacting
• Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
• Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
• Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
• Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
• Sudden dizziness
• Confusion
• Severe or persistent vomiting
• Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
Parents may check the school website for regular updates regarding the swine flu status.

Kindly note, students who are suffering from any flu symptoms must not be sent to school, even for evaluations.
We are likely to quarantine them and send them back home immediately.
